Integrated Planning Performance Issue due to JavaScript and Virus Scan

Hi,

We are facing performance problems with an integrated planning web-based application using SAP Netweaver 7.0 and would like to know if a similar problem has previously occurred in other implementations and which solutions were applied.

We have BI 7 and the web application is a Bex WebTemplate with a large number of input-ready cells (100 rows x 13 columns).

The problem is already acknowledged by SAP and the proposed solution is to turn off the scriptscan functionality in the virus scan software (SAP Note Number: 1061240 - Slow web browser due to JavaScript virus scan). We understand that this represents a higher information security risk due to increased web browser vulnerability and would like to explore other alternatives to solve the problem.

According to the websites below, this problem has been reported to McAfee but no solution has been released as yet.

For reference, our SOE uses McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0.0 Patch - Version 13.

you described the situation very well. Fixes are expected by the Virus Scanner.
