How to define the operation can be executed on either this work center 'A'or this work center 'A' ?
Hi,
For ur requirement, you have to go for Alternate sequencing.
1)First u create Routing with single work center for all the opeartions. This is called Standard sequence.
2) Go into particular Routing by CA02.
3) Click on "Sequence" tab. You have created already routing, so u can see the Standard sequence with Key ' 0'.
Here create a new sequence of type "Alternate"
4) Then it will ask from which operation, this sequence Starting and Ending. U give here the operation numbers.
For ex: the alternate sequence may start at operation 0020 and end at operation 0050.
5) then u give the operations details for this sequence as usual as u gave in standard sequence.
6) After creation u can see the entire Routing in Graphical mode by clicking on Graphic button. Here u can verify whether u created properly or not.
I think it can clear ur doubt.

Hi ,
In ur case we can create (3x 2 x 5) 30 Alternate sequences. But it is not a practical solution.
Sol 1:
Create Std. sequence with most frequently used W.C s like MWS, HMC1, Makino 1.
Then create parallel sequneces for remaining work centers.
Sol 2:
Create more number of Routings with the different combinations of Work centers and use Production versions concept.
Sol 3:
Create Std. sequence with most frequently used W.C s and ask the End users to change the work centers whenever necessary before Releasing the Order.
Sol 4:
Create machines as number of capacities in a single work center, Then u will have only 1 Work Centers for each operation. Still u will account for cumulative capacity.
I hope Solution 3 will solve ur problem in a practical way.
Experts, welcome for better solution if any.
Kiran.

Hi,
Create alt routing with alternate workcenter. Use this alt routings in prod version.
Create many production version by tcode C223. In this, for each prod version select alt routings.
By making setting in OPL8, you can manually select the prod version.
