hello, friend.

the 'copy, delete, check' gives you the option of doing so with existing enterprise structural units (e.g. sales organization), instead of defining one 'from scratch'. when you are defining a new sales organization, you just copy from an existing one with values closest to what you want, then change the values as needed. you don't need to delete unless you want to.

hello friend

what happens if just define SO and do not copy delete chk, i guess its just that u will have to define all the address stuff of that is it?

Hello,

If you copy an element, it copy with all the other related assigments also.

Take an example of sales order copying. If you copy OR to ZOR, all the related assigments also will be copied. If you define new, you need to do all the assignments manually.

hello again.

if you are new to SAP SD, copying an existing sales organization will reduce your time and efforts in making additional definitions and assignment.

let's say you want to create a new sales organization ZZ01. you can copy from an existing one, say, 0001. the advantage is if the sub-assignments and settings (e.g. sales org address set up, sales areas, sales doc assignments, etc.) are to be copied as well, then this option is preferred.

however, there are trade-offs. when you do the copy option, you also copy the organizational structure (and other SD related assignments) of 0001. let's say 0001 has sales area of

0001 + 01 + 01

0001 + 01 + 02

0001 + 02 + 01

0001 + 02 + 02

you will find that you will have copied these as well, even if they are not your requirement. you will find that your sales org will have the following sales areas

ZZ01 + 01 + 01

ZZ01 + 01 + 02

ZZ01 + 02 + 01

ZZ01 + 02 + 02

copying sometimes increases 'clutter data' in your system. anyway, you can delete these un-needed sales areas and other assignments later on. while experienced SD consultants prefer to define sales organization 'from scratch', i still find it more convenient to just copy and change/delete the values later on.

regards.

Hi,

When you execute "Define, copy, delete, check sales organization" you get a pop window.

Double click on copy, delete, check Sales organization on IMG and enter required details.

You get the answer for check sales organization.

Thanks,
