BO XI server issues

How to replace temporary license key with permanent license key for Business Objects Enterprise XI server.

1) We have installed Business Objects Enterprise XI Server with temporary key, but now the new license key has been sent by Business Objects. How do I replace that with permenant key.

2) When I installed Business Objects XI server, I could able to open CMC admin from Program files. When I open now, it doesn't display anything. When I am browsing fromm IIS, CMC opens.

How to map IIS to Program files?

Any ideas?

I am geeting connected to CMC using locslhost only not through machine name as suggested by Tim.

well localhost uses 127.0.0.1 and the IP doesn't use DNS either. Try adding an entry in the hosts file, but you should fix the DNS issue or verify you are using the right DNS server.

I'm guessing that the link which is added during install (adminlaunch) is not working but going to the web server and right clicking-browse is working.

If this is the case the answer could be with your computer hostname.

When you right click -browse you are using localhost in the url, when you click the link you are using your computer hostname (at time of install)

From IE try using

http://localhost/businessobjects/enterprise115/WebTools

http://hostname/businessobjects/enterprise115/WebTools

http://FQDN/businessobjects/enterprise115/WebTools

http://IP.IP.IP.IP/businessobjects/enterprise115/WebTools

Let us know if you can launch the CMC from any of the above.

If you can already get in(browsing the virtual directory) you should be able to correct the license key problem as described in the post above.

open the administration web panel

navigate to licence keys, and add the new one.

wat you mean you open from CMC from program files?
