Abhi,

MSSrvName:

The host name of the message server is saved in this section

MSSrvPort:

the port number of the TCP link is saved.

This has been described in Note 99435 - saplogon.ini file format

For your information, These entries generally gets populated, when you give entry in Saplogon pad to connect a server using message server.

Debasis.

Hi Abhi,

i am getting error 10035, saying resouce temporarly unavailable ??

Where are you getting this error?

I guess you get this when try to access from saplogon pad.

This error might be because of the server not being available.

Server
Item1=192.168.1.9
Database
Item1=01

From the saplogon.ini there is only one entry Server - 192.168.1.9. and system no - 01

This is the only entry in your logon pad.

The error you are getting not related to MSsrvName or MSSrvport. Just cross check with your Basis team if this is the correct server address.

192.168.1.9

System no - 01

MSSrvName is populated when you configure the saplogon entry using "Groups" button. However, if you use "Server" button and directly give the IP like the case here, where you have given 192.168.1.9, then there is no need of the Message Server name..(hence MSSrvName is blank) as in this case your access is directly going to the dispatcher of SAP server.

Hope this answers your question.

Regards,

Debasis.

i think there is some thing error with messg server, which is not b able to contact to application server, but in testing thr. TELNET every thing is fine. its shows conection with every required port with host 192.168.1.9

thn where is the problem???

my pc domain is erp.sap.in and name is erp.erp.sap.in but rather using these names i m putting just IPs. i configured DNS, DHCP and router to my machine having WINDOWS 2000 Server SP4.

Hi Abhi,

Have you installed the SAP server on the your PC where GUI is also installed?

- If NO, then it might be a network issue also.. so best to install gui on the server itself and connect to the server from there itself.

- If YES, first check if your SAP & Database is running or not. Open a command prompt, and run "R3trans -d". It should be successful.

In windows where server is installed, you can check the status of SAP in the MMC. Confirm from the MMC too, the system no# is 01. you can see the system no in the mmc, next to the instance name.

you should have the below entries in /Windows/system32/etc/services file.

sapdp01 3201/tcp
sapms<SID> 3601/tcp

replace <SID> by the SID you have.

The "Waiting for response" comes when there is some problem GUI connectingto the server. but its nothing to do with the message server. If SAP server is up, then you've two option.. 1st to connect through message server, and the 2nd one is to connect through dispactcher.

Debasis.
