Configuring SAPlogon.ini and sapmsg.ini file

Hi,

can anybdy tell me how to configure the "SAPlogon.ini" and "sapmsg.ini file" for a windoes server 2000. if possible post a sample for the both.

what is all abot the IP of messg Server?? is tht the same as of application server" wht abt the router field in SAP logon?? shd i write my default gateway or DHCP id here??

supposing this example.........

my machine ID is 192.168.1.9

DHCP ID is 192.168.1.1

DNS is 192.168.1.1

Default gateway id is 192.168.1.1

pl let me know what to write in Mesgn server and router column during SAP logon as i wld prefer to logon through using group/server tab on SAPlogon rather thn new tab

The GUI version is? You not need to manually changes this files. Try to use only GUI settings for this. Yes by default you can connect to IP of Application server (if you have central system on one host). By default you have one logon group named "SPACE", you only need enter IP of your MS.server and press find (i'm not on work and can't provide details, try to open SAPGUI help, open saplogon and press F1).

whts the IP of MS server?? is tht the same to my application server IP, as SAP is installed on my machine itself ?

What is error 10035 saying Resource temporarly unavailable.

i m getting this message and not b able to log on

Are you have SAP server installed anywhere ? Can you answer on my questions? Are your sap server on one host or you have distribyted system? Any other information about your SAP server. Are you able to login in SAP without message server using direct connection to application server?

Your GUI version and release are ?

Try to search information --> http://help.sap.com/search/sap_trex.jsp

P.S. from your other thread you trying to connect on 01 sysnumber, it means the port is 3201, try to connect on sysnumber 00 if your port are 3200 Are you know sysnumber of your system? What you know about your SAP system(server) ??

Hi,

every thing installed on single machine as i already mentioned.

i am using id 01 with port 3201 and 3601 as when i m connection thrugh ID 00 it said " partner not reachable. so i configured it for 01, at least here i m not getting error like "partner not reachable" only thing is tht i m getting steady window saying " waiting for response" just and nothing showing else. that is beyond to underdtand for me for this response as through telnet i am able to connect successfuly for id 01 for the port 3201 & 3601. which response it is waiting from databse to application or vice versa, not be able to get.

I am using SAP GUI 7.1 with patch 8

Ok, you have Win server, it means you have SAPMMC, are all green in SAPMMC? Can you say your SAP version, DB release and patch level? Are your DB up and running, are your installation ABAP or ABAP+JAVA. Try to check "dev_w0" file under "work" folder --> Drive:\usr\sap ....
