Hi gurus,

What is the difference between Maintaining the Exchange rate through tcode OB08 (SPRO) and tcode S_BCE_68000174 (Easy Access).

Why two provisions were given to enter the exchange rate?

hi,

OB08 is an SPRO setting which is done when the system is fully raw...and the system is in the testing phase...once its over you can also use the other master data S_BCE_68000174 for maintainence...

The reaosn is

before go live you can maintain the rate via OB08 but after golive the production system config (SPRO) is not open for maintenace so if you have to change the exchage rate than you ahve to use this transcation code S_BCE_68000174. because this is the master data maintanence for regular interval for such industries.

that's the reason SAP has give two diff way

where the release stretegy value you can maintain through config as welll as via CL24N
