Hi,

Just we can check this with sqlplus.....R3trans will give us only the connectivity between database and SAP....In BRTOOOLS aslo one option to check the same that is starting/stopping database...but this is the long process than sqlplus.....

Hi THIRU MALAI,

R3trans -d gives the connectivity to the sap to DB, to check Db is active check the status of Db processers are they running or not and check listner service too. you can also check the status of DB with the help of sapdba/brtools.

Easiest way is hit

sqlplus "/as sysdba"

if it gives you your oracle version and all other info....your db is running

If you get messgae as Connected to Idle instance your db is not up.
