SAPGui install problem with Netweaver Trial 7.01

Hi,

I have just installed the latest Netweaver ABAP trial version 7.01. However, when I want to install SAPGui after the main install, I get this error message:

Failed to open/Parse setup script. Please check if the script file 'Setup/NwSapSetup.xcs' exist.

The file does exist in the setup dir so this is strange ??

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

I have been investigating this problem and the problem and solution are:

Problem:

If you as I come from Netweaver Trail 7.00 and this has been uninstalled. The "c:SAP" directory has also been removed.Then the 7.01 version was installed and the same directories are created again.

The problem comes when you have made c:SAP a shared directory in order to be able to use the transport system as described in the blog (see link below)

[Part 8 ' Exporting development objects from SP8 '|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/6360] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];

Solution:

Reverse the sharing attributes of c:SAP to NOT shared and the SAPGUI installation goes fine.
