Hi Friends,
We have this SAP B1 2007 PL30 installation that has been runing for about 5 months, during implementation, we had no legacy system, we were using just excel. The already existing fixed assets were defined in the system, their acquisition was captured by using data transfer work bench to migrate Journal Vouchers(with the acquisition postings) into B1 which eventually was posted.
When we do our monthly depreciation runs, we notice that those Fixed assets(which their acquisition was captured using JV postings) don't get depreciated, we have to manually depreciate them each month, the fixed assets that were acquired using the Fixed Asset Add-on(ie post go-live) however depreciates.
Is there a way we can get the system to be depreciating all the assets, so we don't have to manually depreciate the migrated assets?
I will appreciate any help I can get.
Many thanks

Dear Chike Nwogu ,
Fixed Assets addon is unattached with data transfer work bench. It is independent.
Usually, there are ways to migrate Legacy Assets.
1, Define fixed assest in fixed assets module and create aquisition for them, just like new acquired fixed asseta.
Please note that the acquisition cannot be imported. You have to create aquisition for the assets via aquisition document.
2, If all the legacy data has been posted to G/L, you can import the legacy assets via Administration->setup->fixed assets->import fixed assets master data
To do so, you have to prepare an import file. After install Fixed Assets addon, you can find a sample import file under C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\SAP\FixedAssets -> BAMasterDataImportFile.csv
You have to update it with your own data refering to FixedAssets online help.
In this way, no Jounal entry will be created.
Hope above is helpful!

Ivy Zhang
