Web Planning Layouts using Excel and Office 2007

We currently have all of our planning layouts in BPS built using Excel

(OWC) as web layouts. We are currently testing all application as we are

planning on upgrading to Vista and Office 2007 next year. Our results are that

none of the web layouts function as we get a simple message that "Excel

OWC cannot be used". I checked the layout in BPS0 and it still functions using ordinary excel (non-OWC). From researching on the web, I have found that Microsoft has dropped the OWC components from Office 2007.

I have searched the forums and support on SDN, blogs, etc. and cannot find anyone with the same issue (which seems odd).

Is there anyone else facing this issue that can share what they have done or learned? Any links to know articles would be helpful.

We are on an upgrade path but ECC 6.0 and BI 7 will be mid next year.
