Deploy from SP16 to SP14, what's going to happen?

Hi everybody,

My NWDI is installed on Development system.

The landscape is currently undergoing patching from nw70sp14 to sp16.

The patching will be carried out step by step from dev system to prod system.

I am going to build my SCAs with the DI sp16 and deploy them to test and prod still on sp14.

Will the different patch level affect the WDJ applications?

Thanks, Vincenzo

The SP level of NWDI does not have effects on any application you build. The used SC's (SAP_BUILDT, etc.) must be on the same level as your runtime systems though (SP14 in your case).

Note that you should NEVER let your developments overtake an upgrade cycle.

Hi thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately other concurrent projects on the same landscape are stuck until upgrade is complete.

After upgrade is complete on the whole landscape, should I reimport the new versions of jbuildt, jtechs, jee in my track?

How am I supposed to deleted the old versions?

Points awarded, Thanks

Vincenzo

HI,

you just need to reimport the new versions of jbuildt, jtechs, jee in my track.

it only gets imported if new SCAs are of higher version than previous one.

and don't worry about deleting previous one, NWDI will take care of it when you upgrade them to new version
