SD Implementation

Hi

I am working on an SD implementation project. The company has nine different division as per their line of business (E.g, Projects, Services, Manufacturing, Trading and others). Some of these divisions further has sub divisions. I want to know how do we go about deciding SD organization units. Should i have one sales organization for all these divisions or should i create seperate sales organization for each divsion. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of doing both.

SAP recommends that we should keep organizational structure as simple as possible. but then how do we manage the reporting part at each sub level.

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi,

You should balance

on one hand flexibility of reporting and differentiation of processes,

on the other hand cost of support, masterdata maintenance, authorisation issues etc.

Based on your short description I would suggest creation of separate distribution channels.

However detailed analysis should be done for masterdata volume, number of transactions, users, reporting needs..
