Error when opening an RFC connection

Former Member

Dear Experts,

I have problem in transferring collection data from PRD to solman which will be generated to become EWA report. The Collection data was failed to be transfered to solman thru RFC with the following message:

> ping failed to SM_SLMCLNT600_BACK

> Error when opening an RFC connection

> data transfer aborted: error in destination SM_SLMCLNT600_BACK

> Error transferring session data to SM_SLMCLNT600_BACK

> Maximum number of retries reached ( 0003 ) 6000000000424 0000000625 EWALERT SolMan for 2008100916

I already set the RFC properly with good test connection and successfully remote logon to and from PRD system and vice versa.

Before such problem exist, i got problem with 'service definition' and already solved by implementing note 727998, and now i have problem with the RFC connection.

Is it related to non and unicode system? Since my solman system is unicode and PRD system is non-unicode, but we never got such problem before.

Please assist me to resolve it as the report is urgently required by our Management.

Thanks in advance.

kind Regards,

Rudi

Hi,

While importing request in that options tab you have to do uncheck "leave the transport request in queue for later import" this option..

Hope better..

Hello Rudi,

there is an option in SM59 for the RFC connection

to mark "unicode". Pls check if this is ticked for

your connection to the SM unicode system.

If this is of no help, pls go to transaction ST11 and

search for the dev_rfcx trace files. Search for

one with a matching timestamp and display

the file to get a more detailed error.

Kind regards,

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for your reply, the unicode mark can not be changed since the area is grey, how to set to change mode?

For ST11, here is the traces:

Hi Rudi,

I hope you know that this RFC comes from Satellite system to SOLMAN

I would suggest, delete this RFC, create similar RFC from SM59 then adjust corresponding information in SMSY regarding same RFC and test connection from SMSY.

I had a same issue, i resolved like this only.

Hi Amit,

I just want to clarify the steps:

1. Delete and re-create the RFC in satellite system thru SM59.

2. Adjust corresponding new RFC information thru SMSY in Solman system.

3. Test RFC connection between Solman and satellite system thru SMSY in Solman system.

4. If it is successful then re-generate SDCCN and EWA report.

Please correct me if i am wrong and let me know whether there's still missing steps.

Thanks and Regards,

Rudi

Hi Rudi,

You are right.........all steps are like this only but still

1> when you delete RFC make suer its also get deleted from SMSY

4> You will have to regenrate SDCCN and need to activate all process that required for EWA
