CR XI and IIS 7 Problem (VS 2003 and .net 1.1.4322 and VB)

I have a web application that has been running very well for the past few years, using the following configuration.

Developed on Visual Studio 2003

Visual Basic

.Net Framwork 1.1.4322 Service Pack 1

Crystal Reports 11 (Developers ED)

Application runs from Windows Server 2003 Standard

I have known in the past to make sure that the C:\Windows\Temp folder included the machine users for full control, and to make sure that the ASPNET user is included in the users account. All was well with Windows Server 2003.

Now enters Windows Server 2008 Standard, and IIS 7. The entire application seems to run very well, EXCEPT the display of a Crystal Report. Permissions for C:\Windows\Temp have been verified as above.

The error is:

Failed to open the connection - c:\windows\temp\{xxxxxxx}.rpt

Replace xxxxxx with the temp file named generated by Crystal Reports.

So. What am I missing. Is there a setting in IIS 7 that needs to be altered, or is there a compatability problem?

Herllo, David;

It may be as simple as looking at the tighter security set up by IIS 7.0.

Crystal Reports Notes (Knowledge Base articles) document even our Crystal Reports 2008 is not supported on Windows Server 2008 and actually has an issue installing on that system.

The Platforms.txt for Crystal Reports XI R1 documents support for Windows 2003 Server as the latest version.
