I am trying to edit the entries in table through BD54 but it gives only authorisation for display only. I am logging using SAP* user.

After invoking trasaction BD54, type /oSU53 in the transaction code area. This will open up another session with the authorizations that were checked. You will know what authorization objects are missing and a search for this authorization object will give you the profiles that need to be added to the role. Alternatively, try user ID DDIC instead of SAP*

Hi,

SAP doesn't check your user ID, but authorization(Role/profile).
