Hey Gurus,
We have a situation in which are Top level Assembly, 8000380 ( this material is assembled in house) has a main assembly that is subcontracted to an external supplier. This subcontracted material is 6001713. The users would like to have the Top level assembly sales order link directly into the main assembly so that this linkage is maintained between the sales order and the purchase order for the 8000380 main assembly to the subcontracted material 6001713.
The top level assembly also has a bunch of other parts ( 6001107, 6001116 which are assemblies that are made in house) that go into 8000380 which we wish to have planned through MRP by putting an independent requirement at the top level material and drive the production schedule via this independent requirement.
Also, finance would like to roll up the cost for the 8000380 via the BOM structure for this material and via the sales order. There are options that we would like to price that are not controlled by us but by the subcontractor.
Do you gentlemen have any planning strategy suggestions to be able to handle this scenario?
Hi,
You can do the cost roll up using the BOM. There is no need for any planning strategy. When you are purchasing the material, the price will be updated in the material master based on the purchase order, while doing the GR. When u run the cost roll up, the system will explode the BOM components and copy its material master price for the standard cost estimation.
regards,
V. Suresh
