PR To PO conversion via ME59, Closed Indicator

Hi,

We have set up ME59 to create POs from PR.

1.The 'Closed' indicator (in Quantities/Dates tab of PR) was not set. What to be done?

2. Main thing which is baffling is that in Production system, multiple POs continue to get created for a single PR.

Any thoughts on how to have the indicator set up to closed in PR?

and How to avoid the multiple PO issue?

while running ME59, I have set 'Set Requisitions to "Closed"' to '1'.

Thanks Pavan/Charlie,

I had already done the setting of 06 76.(Could not actually simulate and verify, as in the dev. duplicate POs were never created.)

Before I move that to Production, also wanted to know about the 'CLOSED' indicator.

Pavan,

You are right when POs are created manually (ME21N). Closed indicator does not stop it. However it restricts the PO creation when set in background (ME59 variant set to run in background.)

Charlie,

The issue with 2(Always) would be that even for Partial PR conversion to PO, then the PR may be prematurely closed.

A.) What would be your suggestion to take care of the 'CLOSED' issue?

B.) If 06/76 set up for error, then can the setting 06/608,06/648 be avoided?

If you activate the below error than it wont allow you to create the PO on closed PR if it is used once.

you only need to set up 06 076

any PR converted through the ME59 will never be converted partially so closed indicator 2 will not be a issue.

when you convert manually that time only you can to partial not with ME59

Hi folks,

I am reopening this issue as I continue to face the issue even after moving 06 076 set up in Production.

What is unique is that, the duplicate POs are beind issued only for a specific vendor.

In short the problem is where I began with.

Any thoughts/suggestions.

This time I plan to manually run ME59 Tcode in foreground in debug mode.

Also, fyi. setting the indicator to '2' in ME59 won't help, as there is a genuine requirement for a PR to remain open even after a corresponding PO has been created.

Reasons include

-- PO could be cancelled.

-- The quantity in the PO could be changed.

goto SPRO - MM-Purchasing and activate the following message to error

Materials of requisition XXXXXXX item XXXXX alr. ordered in full

Message no. 06 076

The 'Closed' indicator is only for information purposes. It does n't stope any one from creating more POs.

Waht you could do though is in OME0, activate the messages below and make it an error or warning

06 608 Requisition already converted into purchase order

06 648 Requisition quantity already ordered in full
