Hi,
I would like to know if ABSO and AB01 are doing exactly the same thing (just the transaction codes are different)
Thanks!
Regards,
Vivian
Hi Vivian,
AB01 is an old transaction and should no longer use it.
The different is in AB01 you have default ttype 100 and in ABSO not.
Use the normal transactions when possible, ABSO is still there in the menu path for other postings what you can not do with the standard (new) transactions.
This is the same as the old FB** transations

Hi Paul,
sorry for that, but this time I have to disagree
AB01 is the "master" of FI-AA posting transactions. So I would recommend lots of times to use AB01. Most FI-AA transactions (ABxx) are only "derivates" of AB01, with little bit tweaked screens and/or already transaction types pre-entered at the screen.
Concerning the question: AB01 and ABSO are in principle the same, but in AB01 you have ttype 100 for acquisitions pre-entered already. This eases the usage if you have to post an acquisition for the user.
And now to lift the miracle: ABSO calls internally (technically) AB01 ...

looks like yes. Both start the same program with the same screen.
