Euipment or Function location field Mandatory in Work Order

Hi

How to make either Equipment or Function location ( either of the one) mandatory in Work Order.

Hi ,

The field equipment or f.loc can be made mandatory using transaction variants -- but it would be applicable for all order types .....

1.use tcode SHD0 , give IW31 in Transaction code and ZIW31 in transaction variants and press create ..

2.this would take you to IW31 initial screen and enter planning plant and order types and press enter this would give the dialog box of screen variant .Here press continue and this would take you to inside screen .

3.Here you again press enter and by entering some required data you can finally reach to screen variant of reference object

and can mark the equipment or f.loc field mandatory as required .

4.Once this is finished you can you can select local object and save ... and come back and test the same ... now this trans varint ZIW31 can be assigned to user group ...

If you want this etting for all the work order type the go to this T-Cod OIAN and set equipment and FLOC field mandatory.

If for particular order type then in that same T-code press Influencing the double click on Order Type>enter your order type in Contents press enter now set the equipment anf FLOC field mandatory.

But the question was Equipment AND/OR Functional Location which means that there are the following allowed possiblities:

- Equipment AND Functional Location

- Equipment only

- Functional Location only

Field selection will not help if you want the Equipment OR Functional Location fields to be populated...

Try BADI IWO1_SCREEN_MODIFY, else user-exit IWO10009 (at save event).

* IWO10009 - At Order Save Checks
        IF caufvd_imp-equnr IS INITIAL AND caufvd_imp-tplnr IS INITIAL.
*             issue your own message          
        ENDIF.

Hiii

Please use following path to make the equipment or Functional location mandatory.

SPRO->Plant maintenance & Customer service>Maintenance and Service Processing->Maintenance and Service Orders-->Define Field Selection for Order Header Data (PM)

In that select Field Selection for Order Header Data and Reference Object.

There you can make it mandatory by using influenced by option to make it mandatory for particular order type. Also Other options are available.

This will solve your question.
