This is from OM0F SAP help it self:

Conversion of planning file entries MDVM/MDVL into DBVM/DBVL

Description
All planning file entries in the current client will be converted. You must start the report before activating the MRP area. Tables MDVM/MDVL are converted to tables DBVM/DBVL. In addition, the individual customer entries are converted from table KDVM/KDVL to tables KBVM/KBVL. During conversion, the system creates a plant MRP area for each plant. After conversion, the contents of the tables MDVM/MDVL and KDVM/KDVL are deleted. After conversion, an indicator is set in the client specifying that the planning file entries for the MRP areas are converted.

Hi,

Executing OM0F is mandatory if you work with MRP ares. Before creating MRP ares, planning file entries are created for plant level. You need to convert this plant level planning file entries to MRP area level. So executing this transaction is mandatory before running MRP to MRP area.

Eventhough if you have not assigned any MRP area, you can activate. This will increase planning run performance in the system if you have used multiple plant.

Dear,

Convert planning file entries (SE38 program RMDBVM00) in the Link refers to OM0F.

The plant MRP area initially contains the plant together with all its storage locations and stock with subcontractors.

When you have defined MRP areas for storage locations and for subcontractors and you have assigned the materials, the plant MRP area is reduced by exactly this number of subcontractors and storage locations. This is because they are now to be planned separately.

So a material cannot be planned both at plant level as well as MRP Area level.

Please refer my reply in this thread also,
