Very SLOW SLD import

Former Member

Hi all,

Since we were apparently missing some standard SAP software components in the SLD catalog, we followed note 669669 to import the latest SLD content available

The first step to import the latest CIMSAP was OK. However the second step , CRDelta13_15.zip , is now running for 3days ( ! ) and has reached 70% of completion. ( the note speakes about 3hours... )

On average, 1 object is added every 5seconds ( and some 97000 objects to go )

The XI installation did not had any other performances issues. Any ideas ?

In the logs I only notice some warnings about updates to the SLD coming from connected systems since the SLD is locked for updates because of the import.

( I did not set the parameter 'LockNameSpaceOnImport' to false )

Update

In a second run I put the SDL log to finest level at it appears the most time is spent at this step

To me this sounds like 'it takes almost 5seconds to lock the object that is being updated'.

What could the cause of slow locking ?

Hi,

I'm facing the same problem. It seems that each object takes 5 seconds to be imported. I'm importing the first Delta for SLD 1.0. I planned to upgrade it to version 2.0, but it's been almost 24 hours, and it only reached 70% (of a total of 26.035 objects to be imported).

Is there any setting to make the import faster (note 669669 says that the import should take only 20 minutes)?

Thank you!

Andre
