APO DP and 3.5 BW Query

Hi All,

My boss had a question regarding using a query as a datasource for APO DP.

Is it possible to do this?

I am preparing for a meeting today and want to make sure I have all the information needed to answer questions.

Yes it is possible

create an DataSource for your Planning Area (Transactio

n /SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR) and then use that datasource to Connect it to a RemoteCube, construct a query on

the RemoteCube or

Connect the DataSource to a separate BW server, load the data there (or use a remotecube), and do the reporting from there.

I saw this answer on SAPFans as well, but you are still using a remote cube and not the query.

It is not possible to extact data by query directly from livecahce, you need to use some function module to extract data from livecahce like BAPI_PBSRVAPS_GETDETAIL2 and use it in your ZReport( Custom dev ) to present data or use datasource as explained earlier.

I dont think it is possible to run a query on LC without using the Remote cubes especially if DP is concerned.. I believe its better to use remote cubes for Query purposes as many clients take the forecast snapshot during the monthend for comparisions where you cannot do this directly from the LC
