We work for Russian client, so they use unicode character set, where Russian symbols are.
When I create a report with Russian letters and export to Excel table .xls - I see the Unhandled Exception Error Window
I would send its screen shot to anyone who could help me.
There is first call on top of the stack list - report.dll
then busobj.exe and MSFC42.dll and then others.
Any idea? What is the solution?
Quite confused, cause can't go on further.
Thanks
You need to provide way more info and I can than direct yo to the correct forum:
1) What software are you using?
2) What version are you using?
3) Is this happening in the designer (the software as its "out of the box")
4) is this happening in an application that uses BO or CR SDK?
5) what SDK are you using?

Oh, sorry...
It's BObjects 6.5, it happens in Business Objects itself (not sure if you call it that name though), as I'm quite new in all that.
The environment where I could design a report (I remember there is another tag in Business Objects folder called Designer, but it is something uppper than that ))))))) (I'm at home currently, sorry if I'm not so specific).
So, when I run my report and then try to Save As .xls file format for Excel, it happens.
The platform is Win XP Sp2 (RussianMUI/English original I believe)...
I remember when I do C++ programming then it happens when a string formatted as unicode is assumed as ansi, the 2 bytes char with first 0x00 is cut and then general protection blah blah.
4) is this happening in an application that uses BO or CR SDK?
No, in BO itself.
5) what SDK are you using?
Can't say.. I'm home, though will be at work morrow, so if you really need to know then give me another 10 hours )))) if you feel it's enough - just light me up, please.
