Table not initializing during phase ACT_700

I went in the regular system to activate the table but that has no affect, when I try to log on to the shadow system I got blocked with "Upgrade logon not possible" I looked in the ACT_UPG.log and the error is in german which doesn't do a lot of for me,

Is there a way to connect to the shadow instance so that I can attempt to activate the tables.

Thanks for the tip on the unlock, I was able to get in when I did I found that the table has duplicate fields, by looking at the table using the expand field list option I found the fields repeated in an append. Looking to see how to remove those now.

Thanks for the responses folks, I didn't get notices so I will answer what is asked. I tried both a repeat and an init, the outcome is still the same. I tried logging in as DDIC and the user I created in order to run SPDD during the phase ACT_700. I am going to try the unlock and see if the listed table is activated in the shadow instance.

Which login credentials are you using to login to the shadow system? You can only login to shadow system, using DDIC only.

You can repeat the same phase again. Sometimes it clears the propblem automatically. More queries are welcome.

Hi Troy,

The message 'logon not possible - upgrade in progress' means the shadow instance is still locked for logon. You need to unlock the shadow instance so you can log on to it - 'SAPup unlockshd' from '/usr/sap/put/bin'. Did you try 'repeat' on ACT_700 - I'd do that first as I've seen sometimes where that error occurs and a 'repeat' fixes it magically.

Yes we did include support packs for the sytsem, we didn't have any warnings concerning this object with prepare. Prepare ran clean before we kicked off the upgrade.
