Is it necessary to maintain Vendor Details in J1ID for:

1. Import Vendor ?

2. Customs Office ?

3. Forwading Agent ?

Please clarify the purpose of maintaining the details in J1ID.

Incase you are getting Cenvatable mateiral from the parties you need to maintain. But your case is not that one. However you need to maintain the PAN of the vendor in J1ID if TDS is applicable to them eg Freight Vendor, Clearing Vendor. If you do not maintain the PAN in J1ID, the same will not be printed on the TDS Certifcate
