Regarding Field Type = Name

Hi Gurus,

Has any one tried Field Type=NAME. If yes please tell me the usage of Width (Total) property. Since even after changing the value of Width property it is not restricting the number of characters.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

The name field type is not maintained anymore, and it is advisable not to use it.

You can always have separate text fields to capture the different elements of the name and

a calculated field to combine them together into a full name notation.

Since it is still a part of MDM hence I was trying to explore its properties. But i have observed that width (total) property is not working. If you any thing to share related to this please update me.
