Add a font in Webi

Hi,

I need to install Arial Narrow font in my Webi.

I followed the documentation and added the Arial Narrow font in the fontalias.xml file.

Is it another thing to do?

Some topics advice to generate and add a .afm file otherwise the pdf export doesn't work...

Thanks in advance.

To achieve this I sought some guidance from instructions in SAP Note: 1198529 and Robert Guo's post: http://scn.sap.com/people/robin.guo/blog/2010/11/03/custom-fonts-in-web-intelligence#comment-305457

However, this only seems to work well and the new fonts show up in Web Intelligence Rich Client but not in Web Intelligence launched from the BI Launch Pad.

Any idea why would that should happen??

I presume you did also install the font on the server. I also presume you're using some flavor of Windows.

Did you also edit i18n.xml in the <$INSTALLDIR>\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\scripts directory?

This is in SAP NOTE 1198529 - How to add a new font to an XI Release 2 Windows platform, then export that font to PDF from WebIntelligence

You can find the note here : http://techie.techieindex.com/techie/articles/details.jsp?id=2313

1/ The font files have to be uploaded in the font folder of windows

2/ The fontalias.xml file need to be modified

3/ The font have to be specified in the i18n.xml file.

4/ Finally, clear the cache.

For me, it works for the webi applet and for the pdf export.

Hi Jean-Christopher,

To add a font in the web intelligence interface, you just have to change the fontalias.xml in the "\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\fonts" directory.

Hope this would help you.
