Item description length

Hi,

our one client is from motor industry. their item desc. is upto 85 character they are not interested to maintain it in long text or basic text data. since they want to view description in all transactions not only in reports and printing document.

Please give idea wht can be do.

is it possible to add some userdefined field bcos Standard SAP length is only 40 char.

This is Not at all Possible Except you Go for Big Development. I dont Think Enhancement MGA00001 will also Help in this Case.

There are few user exits:

Enhancement and addition of checks and (limited) changes to data - MGA00001

EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001

(Enhancements for material master tables)

Control for the material number assignment - MGA00002

EXIT_SAPLMG02_001

(Internal number assignment)

Control for the material number display - MGA00003

EXIT_SAPLMG02_002

(External number assignment)
