Hi Srikishan,
I am afraid, that didn't solve the problem either.
I have java 1.4.2_10 installed and added JAVA_HOME to the environment variables and added also %JAVA_HOME%\bin to the PATH.

Hi buddy,
1.4.2_10 is a no no... stick with 1.4.2_08 google and find out the download loc for the file and remember to close all the sec packages. Hope this should help you to get atleast to check param stage... if everything goes well. DB installation will be another road block in the installatiion that i'm getting bumped by now.
Good luck
Hi Srikishan,
thanks for the quick answer. The sneak preview uses sapinst version 701. The oss note 722890 only mentions sapinst up to version 641.

Hi Peter,
Note 851251 gives some info about SAPInst 701. It does
show the same problem that you got(but after
installation), and tells to ignore it. This error usually
occurs on UNIX systems because either "DISPLAY" variable
is not defined or the root user has memory allocation
problems.

Srikishan
Hi,
Welcome to SDN!
Please check your environment variables, as they may cause some problem. SAP Note 722890 may help you.
Regards
Srikishan
