How many users

Hi,

I configured ESS. In portal i created 2500 users.

All these 2500 users need to access ESS services. All these 2500 users has personal id's in r/3.

But do i need to create 2500 users also in r/3 system....or without creating users can i access their data from portal?

Kindly put some light on this?

Dear Venkat,

1. You have to create users in su01 to access ESS in portal.

2. Then you have assign that users to personel number in pa30(infotype - 105 & subtype -0001)

Once users are created, u can run transaction(hruser) to assign the users.

If you ahve any doubt please revert

here i hav to create 2500 users in portal

but i hav only 900 license to create users in r/3 system....

without creating users in r/3, can i access through portal all ess services?

Hi,

Only dialog users are counted for license.

You have to create ESS users as communication users, which is not counted for license. So you can create as many users u can.

Dear Venkat,

Go to HRUSER transaction Click on "Select Employees using employee Master" -> upload all the users what you to create ->

Before that you have to create ESS user group, where in u can assign all the users into that group.

I am not find any info how to create users with communication type

Time being after creating the users, u can go to SU01 transaction, select the user and under Logon Data -> User Type change to Communication data.

In the meantime i will try to find the solution.

Hi,

I think we can create the User group who share the similar information a tthe R/3 end also and provide the necessary authencations for this usergroup.
