Hi
I have a small query related to PP design as per below scenario
we do production for the Electrical equipments for which if I have an order and consider all levels of production to get my finish good , it'll go upto 15 Production Orders ( as per BOM levels) to get one finish part.
Could you pl suggest me as I am little unclear -
whether in SAP its better to use
Collective Orders
Discrete Orders release by Operation (with one BOM structure)
Thanks in advance..
Hi,
Working with 15 prod order, it will make too much of data entry work. Split the material according to stage wise maximum of 3 or 4 stages. Process this 4 production order.
With single BOM structure, you can not see stock of each stage. Because from 1st opn to last opn it will show as a single material code and you will not get accurate cost which you can expect in stage wise.

Dharma

hi
Collective Orders.
You can only use Collective orders for Ist level BOM only.
Discreate Orders
It will take more time to close all the orders and u will have more paper work.
so Pls use Collective order for First Level and use Phantom for the rest if the assembly is in the same place.
thanks
