Hi,

Notification is a request to the maintenance department from user departments to perform a necessary task and activity.

For Ex: If user dept find any malfunction or breakdown in their process equipment then will inform maintenance dept about the problem throu2019 notification.

After receiving notification maintenance technicians will take action on that. They will enter the complete history of the breakdown or malfunction like causes of the problem, damage, tasks, and activity in that to keep the object history.

Order: Order can be created with or without ref. of notification. It is just like Material Request Slip. For stock items system will generate reservation no. For non-stock item or external service system will generate PR no. You can differentiate with control keys.

Basic difference between notification and order is notification contains only information, order can contain cost involved ( internal / external material, labour cost) to rectify the problem of a particular technical object.

Chandru.

hi

You use this application component in maintenance processing in the event of a malfunction or exceptional situation to:

Describe the exceptional technical condition at an object

Request the maintenance department to perform a necessary task

Document work that has been performed

Maintenance notifications document maintenance tasks completely, and make them available for analysis in the long term. You can use them for preliminary planning and execution of tasks.

Maintenance processing for unplanned tasks can be divided into the following three major areas:

Description of the object condition

The main element in this area is the maintenance notification. It is used to describe the condition of a technical object or to report a malfunction at a technical object and request that the damage be repaired.

Execution of the maintenance tasks

The main element in this area is the maintenance order. It is used to plan in detail the execution of maintenance tasks, trace the progress of the work performed, and to settle the costs for the maintenance tasks.

Completion of the maintenance tasks

The main element in this area is the maintenance history. It is used to store the most important maintenance data on a long-term basis. You can call up this data at any time for evaluation purposes.

Orders form an important part of the detailed planning of tasks and their accompanying documentation in Plant Maintenance or Customer Service.

A technician on site must execute tasks at a technical object. For this, materials, utilities and staff must be planned and costs estimated. The order supports you with these tasks, since it primarily contains data for planning and executing tasks, which must be performed at the technical object in question.

Specific planning with regard to type, scope, dates and resources

Execution and monitoring of tasks

Drawing up of rules for account assignment and settlement

Definition of budgets

Entry, assignment and settlement of costs incurred

Technical and business completion

Billing and Controlling for service orders

I'm still without undestand, A technician do his work based on a Order or based in a Notification? Because we can create an Order based on one or more notification, but you can create a notification without any relationship with a order. In this case the technician do his work based on the information of the notification? Regards.

hi

if your technical is executing the job with reference to notification ,while executing if he needs any materials or if you want to capture the cost of the workhours spend on repairing then you will create an order for that notification and proceed further

another example if the notification has found one of the compressor foundation bolt is loose and done the tightening then you can capture the activity in notification .no need to create an order.

Dear Fernando Franzolini,

Notification: Its manly for history of technical object capturing and can be a message to maintenace team to look into abnormality.

Eg. Notification created by process technician for thr problrm in pump. Now it will be read by maintenace technician he will look into pump and will do some activity, task etc Now if he finds he require material to repair it then the turn of order comes.

Order: Its mainly for cost capturing. Now maintenancce technician will create and release the order to get material and will settle the cost of order at cost center,WBS element etc.

When cost is involved order should be created but if job can be done by just inspection then there is no need of order.

Ntification can be created by maintenance technician according to his way also.
