Hi
how to write a dependency to restrict the selection on charectristics.
i mean i am having a characteristic colour and it has around 30 values.
I want to restrict my customer to select only 3 different characteristic values.
how do i do this.
Hello Deepu,
I am not sure, please try this, Based on the customer number you have to restrict the Colour. Ex
Customer AAA - only RED & GREEN should be selected
Customer BBB - Blue and black should be selected.
I am not sure , define customer number as one characteristics
for dependency formula please refer below SAP link

Dear,
1. in CU01 screen give the name of the dependency and press enter.
2.will will be guided to Maintain Dependency screen, there give the description. and Select the dependency type you are going to write (i.e., preconditon, selection etc..)
3. the press Dependency editor button (F7).
4.in the Edit Dependency screen only one line with number 0010 will appear. if you want you can add more lines by pressing + button. or (i9) in place of 0010 then another 9 llines will appear to you.
5. write the syntax and check it. once it is free of errors save it with chaning in the status of the dependency to "release" .
