SAP UTAB Table

Hi All,

We have so many shortdump DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR that contains ORA-01654: unable to extend index SAPR3.UTAB~0 by 8192 in tablespace PSAPZUTABI#

We use SAP R/3 4.6C.

After we add the table space and also restart the server we still got problem that all dialog and background work process were occupied directing to process "read sequentially" or "update" to table UTAB or USR02. So we totally can not logon to the system.

Did you have this experience before? Is it because of we need to create the index UTAB~0 manually from brtools? And can it?

You Can refer the below SAP Notes in solving this ORA 1654 error. Implement the same steps mentioned in the below SAP Notes.

It's solved by generating the UTAB index from oracle.

Hi,

I'm not an expert in this matter, but the problems you describe may indicate the fact that the wrong windows user was used to start your SAP instance.
