Hi Bill,

With the new SMTP Plug-In from WAS 6.10 onwards, you jsut need to follow the following SAP Note to configure youre emails.

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/455140

Hope this helps.

Hi Gyan,

Agree with Juan, may be some problem with the relay agent.

But, You can have a try changing the internet supported internet address in SCOT, set > make *. (as already mentioned) if your company domain is maintained there change it to * and send one test mail to your account.

you can do this by going to SBWP tcode, and then send one test mail to your mail account. If you're able to send mail to your company domain I expect RSCONN01 program is running as background job frequently. If not, schedule it every 5 or 10 min.

After you send one mail in S00 (for test purpose) you can go to SOST and manually select the mail in the queue and then press "start send for selection" - this manually runs the rsconn01 program to send the mail. (this is just to avoid any time delay, if you want to test quickly)

I've tried with WAS640 and NW7 system, it works. but if this doesn't work there may be some issue with relay agent.

Hope this helps.

I just replied to a similar case...

If you can send mail inside the domain but not outside... then this is an issue with the SMTP relay agent.. ask your Mail Admin to add the IP address of your SAP system to the relay agent.

Hi Gyan,

Please follow the notes as already provided.

Please check in SCOT > Select SMTP > Nodes > Change - in the supported address type under internet - Set > Check Address area. I guess your company domain is maintained here. like "xyz.com"

you can change this to "*" and send a test mail.

lets know if it works.

Hi,

Yes this is because your SMTP email server does allow sending emails to the outsid world.

If you are using SAP WAS 6.10 or above you do not need any extra configuration you need only to follow the following steps:

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/455140

This is because the SMTPplug-in from WAS 6.10 and onwards - supports all SMTP mail gateways and you do not need any SAP Exchange Connector as well to connect to MS Exchange Servers. Please find below the details from SAP as well:

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/122657

if you have followed all the steps as mentioned in sap note 455140 above, please liaise with your M/S Exchange Server administrator so that he can unblock the sending of emails to the outside world as well, if that is permitted.
