hi Nishant,

First thing, you cannot use wildcard character in your Role names.

Secondly, after govong the name, click on the create button instead of search.

Let me now in case of any issues.

There is mass generation of profiles and in the post installation step they have asked to use wildcard.

PFCG > Utilities > Mass generation.

Choose All Roles, the wildcard in the role name IS fine (i.e SAP_XI* ).

Select Generate automatically

Execute.

I hope you will be doing exactly like this..

Call transaction PFCG.

2. Choose Utilities u2192 mass generation. Do the following:

a. Field Role: Enter SAP_XI*

b. Select Generate automatically

c. Press <F8> and choose Generate online

If there is a list of profiles displayed, which are not yet generated, repeat the

procedure by pressing <F8>.

If yes and still getting the same error then check all the steps again, if possible restart the server and then try. It should work.

Why you want to create Roles from PFCG?

What is the version XI or PI? I am not wrong you can directly run the configuration wizard from the nwa. it will do most of your task.

Also you can go to SU01, create one user and assign all roles to them. then process with that user. Else many times you will faces unauthorization error.

Create user in SAP XI and then assign them role

Create user using SU01 transaction. Enter the username and click on the first button (create).

Follow the process below

1. Address Tab

Enter the user details

2. Logon Data Tab

Enter the initial password. Make sure user type is Dialog (it is by default).

3. Roles Tab

SAP_XI_DEVELOPER

SAP_SLD_DEVELOPER

SAP_XI_MONITOR

(if the user is admin give the admin roles)

Before logging on to the Integration Builder, logon to ABAP stack (SAPGUI frontend on windows or java) at least once. Then logon to Int.Builder components.

Nishant,

under the "Which roles do you want to output" section, have you selected "All Roles" ?

Actually, I am following the post installation guide and there they have not mentioned anything so I have kept the default "Roles with non currect profiles".

Let me know which one should be selected?
