AE - Can we setup a system to only approve some roles and not for others ?

I would like to setup a test system with no approval of roles access except for some of them ? Will that be possible and how ?

Any suggestion ?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Hello Patrick,

YES, this is possible for sure. To achieve this:

1. Do not define any approvers for the roles, for whom you do not need any approval criteria to be set up.

2. Go to config> Roles> Role Selection--> check on Roles with no approvers field.

This will, however, only work if your request also contains roles with approver. This is a limitation for this configuration option.

A better way to do this would be to create an initiator for that set of roles that sends the request to a path with a "no stage" approver.

Thanks for the information and nice suggestion. This infact is a limitation. We can use this only in case our request has other roles, which have Role owners.

Now you may use any of the options mentioned as per what kind of access requests comes in your organization but better to use the one which Frank suggested as this would hold true in all teh cases.

Hi Patrick, could you explain your solution do you have 2 initiators (one for the "non-approval" path, one for the "approval" path?

Please clarify your question. If you want to approve only certain roles, but do you want the user to have the abilty to pick roles which do not have approvers? Do you have a role owner stage?
