Dear All
I have a server with there LPARS but i want to install sap 4 systems(instances), So only possible solution is to install two SAP instances on one LPAR. Is this possible in iseries environmnet ( as400/DB2).

Bimal
Hi Bimal,
Just install the second instance as you would normally. If it is a second system you need to ensure that it has a unique SID. You will also need to give the second system a different system number.
The install process will then create all the relevant IFS directories/users/libraries for the new system, and you will be able to operate it independently of any existing systems.
Hope that helps.

Hi Kalyan,
I wouldn't call it MCOD as it doesn't have the disadvantages of MCOD, but in theory SAP claims, that to be "nearly MCOD" as described in note 443925. So, on iSeries, nearly everything is MCOD, as it is usual, to have more than one SAP system on one box ...

Hi Victor
Thanks for your reply...
I have few more things to clarify. If we are installing one instance on one LPAR it is like installing a SAP instnce on seperate server.
But if we want to install more than one instnace on a single LPAR ( lets say two instnaces). Are there any special considearations or steps that i have to follow.
It is a great help if you could direct me to some useful documents.
Regards
Bimal

Hello Bimal,
I think you mean 3 LPARs...
Yes, multiple SAP systems can be installed on one LPAR. In fact, it is widely deployed by many SAP-iSeries customers.
Best regards,
Victor
