Dear forumers,

In the SAP MM module, what exactly does the term PO Document Date refer to?

Does this PO Document Date refer to the BUDAT field from the EKBE table or does it refer to the BEDAT field from the EKKO table?

Please help. Many thanks!

Ashok,

One more question: Could these two fields, BUDAT and BEDAT, be the same dates?

Please help. Thanks.

Ashok,

Thanks, but are you sure they really are the same?

This is because I am trying to generate a report on PO history and I need to write my codes in such a way that I do not use inner joins.. If these two fields are really the same, then I can code my program in a better way by just referencing to EKBE-BUDAT.

So, I need to really have a confirmation that they're the same. Please help me out here again.

hi,

> I don't suggest you to code with the BUDAT....i suggest you to do it with other one....

Reason : Suppose if you make your PO today and and and keep it on hold, and post it tomorrow, then the dates will be different....

> I think for coding purpose both work differently....

<<<<<<CHECK THE RULES AND ASSIGN POINTS PROPERLY>>>>

Hope it helps..

I said both fields may be same and i didnt say Both are same. This may Vary also. You can buiild a Report using BUDAT from EKBE and BEDAT from EKKO tabl;es.

Hi,

I am not clear what is the report contents and what output need to be achieved from the report .But regarding the fields EKEB-BUDAT ,it is the posting date of the GR/Material Document ,not any posting date of the PO.If you go to the table EKKO ,here you will find two different dates ,ie, AEDAT(Date on which the record was created) & BEDAT(Purchasing Document Date).AEDAT is the real date of the creation of the document & BEDAT is the Document date from which the document is liable to be effective .These two dates can be different depending upon the circumstances .Suppose you have already issued a PO manually on 5.10.08 and not in the system .but in the system you created the PO on 6.10.08 putting document date as 5.10.08.Here the AEDAT will be 6.10.08 and BEDAT will be 6.10.08 .

Dear forumers,

Many thanks for all your inputs and detailed explanations here. Appreciate it a lot.

Will be going for EKKO-BEDAT as the PO Document Date now.

Thanks once again!

Priyanka,

The closest I could find is the BEDAT field (Purchasing Document Date) from the EKKO table.

Can you please help to verify this?
