Leave Application Locked During Payroll Calculation

Dear all,

We have just upgraded our system to ERP2005 and we found that the leave application is locked during payroll calculation. However, before upgrade (when we were using workplace before), user could still apply / approve leaves thu workplace during calculation. All the workflow would be routed to an R/3 account "leaveadm". Once "leaveadm" open and re-save the workflow in business workplace inbox, leave records would be updated and sychronized to R/3 database.

May I know is it limitation of SAP standard or we have to do customization for about? Please kindly share your thought, thank you very much!

I believe as a standard, the leave application does get locked for any data changes that affect past or current payroll periods. I amguessing you had a custom application in yoru legacy sap system that was allowing you to use leave application during payroll lock period.
