Hi,
In the requirement class KMFA for assemble to order planning strategy, there is a chackbox for component availibility. What is this checkbox used for ? Is it used to switch off component ATP check when creating a prod/planned order via the sales order ? But in that case why would anyone want to swtich off component ATP in an ATO scenario ?
Thanks
anyone for this ?

Dear,
It is for SD availability check
If the indicator is not set in OVZG then the assignment of independent requirements planning is active, then an availability check is carried out against planned requirements for the material. If this assignment is not required, no check takes place.
The type of check is proposed by the system.
The requirements class and the checking group (transaction OVZG and OVZ2) determine the checking type when you check out of a sales order, that is, create or change the sales order item or when you choose the "Availability check" button in the requirements and stock overview.
Customizing for the production order (transaction OPJK) determines the checking type when you manually check in the manufacturing order ("Availability check" button in the production order). The conversions of the planned order into a production order( for example, in transaction MD04) is also determined by the setting in the production order (transaction OPJK).
Now ATO you have customized a sales requirement class with assembly processing.
When you create the sales order item in the production order, the system automatically adjusts the order finish dates to the availability situation of the components.
When you carry out a manual availability check in the sales order, the system only checks the header material. To carry out an availability check for the components, you can use the 'Check availability' button in the stock/requirements list of the individual customer segment.
Hope clear to you.
Regards,
