Hi
When you want to sell a material x from 8 different plants say1000 to 8000 you need to extend the material for all the 8 plants
you have to assign shipping points to all the 8 plants
Means when you initially create a material you will create that for a particular plant in MM01 say plant 1000
Then again MM01 you have to create the same material and in the plant which pops up along with org structure when you are in MM01 you have to give plant 2000
Then a message will come in the status bar that the material is already created and extended
Lke that you have to extend for all the plants for which you want to maintain stocks
Hope you got the point

Raja

Dear Ramanathan,
When you maintain Material master data of Material X in different plants ie from 1000 to 9000 , you maintain delivering plant as 1000 in Material master data of org data plant 1000 ... and when you maintain delivering plant 2000 in Material master data of org data plant 2000 then even the plant 1000 which was maintained previously in org 1000 changes its delivering plant to 2000. Any solution ?
Hi Arnold,
Whatever Ramanathan and GSL have suggested are very true.
1. You create a Material and extend it later on to the various Combination of Org. Data (i.e. PlantSales OrgDist. Chanl)
Note: Don't maintain Divsion within Material Master as it will cause problem in Sales Order.
2. Needn't to maintain Delivery Plant within Material Master for any of the Org. data.
Note: Can you explain why is it very importan for you to maintain Delivery Plant within Material Master (under Tab: Sales: sales Org1)
This will definitely resolve your issue.
Best Regards,
Amit.
Dear Amit,
Thanks for responce
Now for reason for maintaining a different deliverying plant
A Pharmaceutical company having two plants one in PUNE other in DELHI , now both plants manufactures a product X and it is sold from all Sales Office across country Now when a material manufactured in plant PUNE is supplied through out South and West of India , and same material manufactured in plant DELHI will be sold in Northern and Eastern part of India. Now when Calcutta Sales Office sells product X in it gets from plant Delhi and when Sales Office in CHENNAI sell product X it is from Plant PUNE
Now if i maintain deliverying plant in master data as PUNE, then how the material from plant DELHI is determined when material are sold from northern sales offices .Is manual entry the only option , i do not think so as there should some other option to determine , imagine when a company having 5 to 6 Deliverying plant .... WE DO NOT EXPECT END USER TO ENTER PLANT MANUALLY FOR EVERY ORDER THEY PROCESS..
Is the concept OK or i am missing something..HELP

In such cases there is no need to mention any specific delivering plant in the material master (leave the field blank). During sale order creation the delivering plant has to be entered manually.

GSL.
