Hi Ankit,

If you have already tried initializing tape with volume scratch and failed as suggested above then

this might be caused due to missing microsoft dlls.

Pl refer to SAP Note 954960 - BRARCHIVE/BRBACKUP backups on Windows terminate

SAP Note 684106 - Microsoft runtime DLLs.

Pl lets us know the O/S.

It is ok with tape size. It is 200GB & my database size is 100 gb.

Now only previous error is there. ie red in read out i/o error.

sounds simple. your previous tape was bad. the new one was good.

Solution for this problem is settings of two parameters init<SID>.sap

Cross check parameters :

expir_period

For my system i have set to 2.

tape_size

For my system i have set to 400G

Many Thanks

check your connection to your tape drive. maybe you cable is not fully inserted or is faulty.

Ankit,

Error indicates that you don't have free volume for taking backup. Initialize some free volumes and take the backup.

Thanks.

Hi,

As per Note 17163 - BRARCHIVE/BRBACKUP messages and codes

Either add the required number of valid volumes to the list in the profile, or use the Command Option -v SCRATCH when you start the program. Repeat the processing.
