Hello,
MDM training and documentation seems to depend on using files which is cumbersome. We would like to use an ODBC source instead as we have many large data sources to import.
We are on MDM SP6 MDMIMS55006P_3-10003641.ZIP
DB2 version 9.1 locally on windows
We have created the ODBC DSN and specify the database and can test connection ok
When specifying the ODBC as source, there is then a drop down list for remote system, MDM BW, MDM SCM...MDM
I select MDM. What is this for?
I specify the system DSN name, dbo userid and password.
I get one of two situations depending on the day it seems
1. Cannot connect to source
2. Import manager opens and the source list on the left is empty - no tables
Any ideas are greatly appreciated

Closing unanswered. Maybe resolved in MDM 7.1

Yes it works with Excel and even MS Access, but not DB2. I am certain that the DSN security is correct as the userid is even a DBO.

Hi,
I have the same question.
I want to import the data from a progress 91D database directly into mdm without using flat files.
So I installed to progress odbc drivers on the mdm server and created a DSN.
Now when starting the import manager and choosing odbc as type, the source hierarchy list is empty.
No tables are displayed.
What can I do?
Regards
Ivan.
