Internal Order - Exchange Rate Variance

Former Member

Hi,

I am working on the Internal order, we post Cost from MM, Revenue from SD and Time from HR to the Internal Order. We are using USD as the Controlling Area Currency while company code currency is CAD.

The activity type is defined with controlling area currency USD.

Question:

When we post all cost, revenue and time it is picking up different exchange rates.

for example: cost and revenue is picking up exchange rate = 1.00920

HR time posting is picking up exchange rate = 0.9880

Why there is a difference in the exchange rate, does HR interface pick up different exchange rate then what is in OB08? Why is there a variance?

Thanks,

Sahaj

Hi,

i think you might have different exchange rate types.

Check controlling area configuration

SAPRO>Controlling>General Controlling>Organization>Maintain Versions

select version(0) and click on setting for each year and enter controlling area and version.

you will see year by year...double click on your fiscal year and see what exchange rate type in assigned here.

i think HR is picking values from here and this may be different exchange rate type what you are using in FI(OB08)

Thanks,

Rau
