Hi,

There is workflow made in the system which has send mail steps

also rswuwfml2 is run to send workitem mail notifications

in Dev system the SMTP connection is disabled.so when an outgoing message is failed or deleted then 'cannot be sent' message is generated for that.

there are a lot of 'Cannot be sent' messages seen in sost. There about 15 per second and there are about 600 messages like that.

out of which abt 200 seem to be for the same document another couple fo hundred for other document and so on

it is not possible that so many messages were created via workflow for the document. so how could there be so many cannot be sent messages ?

also checking SWNCONFIG, cant figure out the issue

kindly provide some advice

thanks

Hello Rita,

This must be due to a background job trying to pick the emails and not able to transmit.

Look at all the standard jobs in SM36 which are running for every 15 seconds and find the bad one.

Thanks,

Sudhir.

Hi,

Even if there is a job that runs to pick emails and cant submit or there failed jobs and failed transmissions, it should not wrongly create 'Cannot be sent' messages.

My issue is following.

An entry (mail1) in sost is in waiting status. This is deleted.

A new entry is generated in sost saying - cannot be sent : mail1

An entry (mail2) in sost is in waiting status. This is deleted.

A new entry is generated in sost saying - cannot be sent : mail1

Some more waiting status entries are deleted, for all of them, the same message is created. Thus there are too many cannot be sent messages for mail1. Cannot be sent message should be created for the message that has been deleted. But here, the 'cannot be sent' message of the first deleted entry is created for every deleted entry.

Also, this happens only for specific user IDs. For other user IDs there is not cannot be sent message created at all. So there has to be some user specific setting.

Could you please give some hint as to what is the origin of these cannot be sent messages ? how are they created ?

thank you
