I am using Crystal Report 7 and I am trying to capture the text on the report for document management purposes. Unfortuanetly the report that Crystal Report 7 is producing is an image file.
Is there anyway that I can somehow get the report to be in a text format file?
!!!PLEASE HELP!!!!
Hi Ravindar,
I would like to know how you are capturing the text into your report. Are you inserting the text/ word file as picture in report ?
Do the following :
Copy the text from source and past in notepad then remove all new lines.
Now copy this text in excel under a field. Now create a report based on Excel and insert this field in your report.
Apply Can Grow option to this field.
Thanks,
Sastry

Getting the results into excel is not something that i want to be able to do.
Basically a sales invoice system generates the Crystal Report by using a template however when the sales invoice is ran it makes a crystal report image in the viewer before printing what i need instead of this is that the viewer displays not an image but a text format file such as a DOC or something so the document mangement system can pick up control characters which have been placed on the report for indexing into the document management system.
Does this help further?
Export to Text in the designer.
