DMS - Document Management

Dear all,

According to de Help, Using the status management functions, you can determine that a project folder (or a object link) is only released when all the documents in the folder (for example, drawings, documentation) are released.

I suppose that the function is in Define Document Type but I don't know how to use it.

Can anyone kindly explain how I can go about it.

Hallo Martin,

in my opinion it is only possible with document BOM's.

In document BOM's you can only release the head document, when all other documents from the BOM are released.

Several of you appear to be looking for an easy to follow step by step SAP/DMS configuration guide. Please refer to the building block document P40_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc and you will have a good starting point. I found it very usefull in my initiatil understanding of the configuration steps.

At the moment with the SAP GUI on DMS, does the GUI today uses the HTTPS transport to deliver the encrypted DMS traffic, and how this is transported within the SAP GUI 7.10?

I believe the SAP GUI uses HTTP to communicate with the SAP server but could not confirm whether or not the encrypted DMS was through to an HTTPS server.

Could someone assist?

Full disclosure: This is my first post on SDN: I am a technology partner in the WAN Acceleration space, and a customer of ours is looking to us for acceleration of HTTPS traffic across the WAN. We deliver that functionality, but are looking for the right recommendation for this customer.

Hi all,

The probability of receiving a "how to" document on SAP DMS is very unlikely. As far as I can determine, it is a rare skill and I dont see the DMS Consultants, freely giving away their i-Cap.
