Hi Gurus,
Please guide me on how at the time of going live in BCS FS items are created. For e.g in our ECC / R/3 we have defined FS Items, now the same would be used in BCS. Do we create all our ECC FS Items manually in BCS or is there any method through which we upload FS Items from ECC to BCS. Like when we go live in R/3 or ECC system from Legacy system, there we make upload programs (BDC) to load all Master Data of Legacy system to SAP. In BCS how is Maters copied from R/3 or ECC.
Many thanks to all,
os
Hi os,
in SEM-BCS with the proper configuration there is no need in such a procedure before go live as you described. The FS items (and other master data) are replicated in test and Prod during the transport of settings! Otherwise, you may not to setup the system.
There is set of methods of data collection (including reading R/3-ECC - load from datastream) - and you may see the list of them in the link provided balow, in another mesage. The method might be used for upload of master and transaction data.
So, the summary (not comprihensive) of the main ways of creation the FS items in SEM-BCS:
1. Manual creation.
2. Flexible Upload from a file.
3. Upload from ECC/R/3 with using load from data stream method.
In order to load item master data and transaction data you may map in ECC the operational chart of accounts with group accounts which represent somewhat a CoA of consolidation.

Dear Omesh
Check if this helps -

See particularly the example at the end. I see a possibility that you can achieve the load if routed through BI.
